How to make part of a picture overlay onto another picture on word (2007)?

i want a part of a picture i found on the internet (eg. how to get a dog which is in middle of pic) overlaid onto another picture? usually when i over lap a picture onto another picture the white or backround covers up the other pic, i just want the image itself onto the other picture :) plz help and no stupid answers plz
